While we get 40 Luxxe (our school bus conversion) ready, I've been searching the internet for space-saving products to make our family’s skoolie life easier.
Tiny living means maximizing every inch of your space and I’m excited to create a more minimalistic and organized home. Here are 8 space-saving items that will come in handy for you on your offgrid or bus-life adventures. (They're great for apartments and traditional homes, too!)
These organizers are perfect for storing fruits, canned goods, and juice boxes for the boys. They're sturdy and have handles, so there's less chance you'll drop everything!
This set of seven durable containers keeps food fresh and tidy. As a mom, I love that they’re drop-resistant and easy to open with one hand as you prepare your meals…IYKYK.
You can use these metal hanging baskets to put up your cutting board and seasonings and keep counter space clear. We're thinking of using them for school supplies too because they're also portable! Definitely here for multi-use products.
The two handles included with the 12-piece set are removable for oven use and make these compact and space-friendly. When nested, they're quiet in a moving vehicle.
Hanging your paper towels keeps them out of the way until you need them. This paper towel holder can also double as a bathroom towel rack.
6. Space-saving clothes hangers (for pants / for shirts)
So, I absolutely enjoy putting looks together and having a distinctive style, so I’m not necessarily looking to get rid of a ton of clothes. That said, I found two options that work for fashion lovers like me that want to maintain a sizable wardrobe without taking up too much space.
We’re still deciding if we want to double our kitchen table or if we want separate desk space for roadschooling and work. Either way, we’re leaning toward having something that can be tucked away like this mounted folding table.
BONUS: If we want a desk option with shelves, we think something like this could work too. Plus, it has a cute lil chalkboard on it.
This is my favorite hack I have implemented in order to save space. I use my throw pillow to store all my leggings! This provides functionality without compromising the design or aesthetics of our living space.
I hope this list helps the next time you're in the market for space-saving products for your skoolie/bus conversion or tiny home. These selections were made with small spaces in mind. With a little bit of creative thinking, you can make the most of your square footage, while keeping things organized and within reach.
